Soundmoves creator and curator

25 years Yoga teaching experience

M. Sc, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500, YACEP, 30 years exp Noah Mckenna

Noah Mckenna developed the Soundmoves method over three decades of teaching and personal practice. The approach centres on restorative yoga taught at clinical depth — sequencing built around the autonomic nervous system, integrated with heart rate variability biofeedback, polyvagal-informed practice, and resonant frequency breathing. Noah holds an M.Sc, the C-IAYT credential from the International Association of Yoga Therapists, E-RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance, and YACEP continuing education provider status. Soundmoves is registered as an IAYT-Approved Professional Development provider, a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School (RYS 200 and RYS 300), and a YACEP provider. His teaching draws on years of immersion in India — including time in Mysore — but the methodology he now teaches is his own: a synthesis of contemplative tradition, contemporary neuroscience, and the practical science of breath. The work is delivered as evidence-informed yoga teaching with a primary focus on nervous system regulation, suitable for students wanting to teach this work themselves and for yoga therapists wanting to deepen their clinical scope. He teaches online, asynchronously, with lifetime access for every student. Direct questions from enrolled students are welcomed.

Noah is hands down the best teacher I've ever come across. I feel so incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in his 200h YTT in Goa, and will be taking many more of his courses in the future. Noah is literally a living encyclopedia for all things anatomy and philosophy

Evelyn Krull

Noah is authentic and teaches with integrity and from the heart. Highly recommended if you are looking for the real thing!

Didi Bulle

You have to try at least once. It's so soothing to let yourself be guided by this special music that immerses you into an inner trance. And Noah's voice, like an angel, that helps us reconnect as soon as the mind escapes into thoughts. Noah discreetly gives a multitude of details that answer my questions sometimes even before I even wonder them. A pure moment of peace and happiness.

200 Hr Yoga Teacher Training

Frequently asked questions

What certification do I earn from this training?

Upon completion you are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT 200 (Registered Yoga Teacher, 200-hour). Soundmoves is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School (RYS 200) — the registration body authorising the certification. RYT 200 is the internationally recognised entry-level yoga teaching credential.

Is the training fully online?

Yes. The course is delivered entirely through pre-recorded video lessons with supporting written material. There are no scheduled live sessions, no enrolment windows, and no travel required. You progress at your own pace with lifetime access from enrolment.

How long does the training take?

The course represents 200 hours of structured learning. At a steady pace of five to seven hours per week, most students complete the training over six to nine months. Lifetime access means there is no deadline — you can take longer if life requires it, or move faster if immersed.

Why is this training $799 when most online RYT 200 programs cost more?

Because the training is self-paced and delivered through pre-recorded content, the per-student cost is lower than programs with scheduled live cohorts or limited enrolment. The trade-off is asynchronous learning rather than real-time interaction with peers. The depth and quality of teaching are comparable to programs costing several times more — drawn from three decades of practice and teaching, with a focus on restorative yoga and the science of resonant breathing that is rare in 200-hour curricula.

What's the difference between RYS 200 and RYT 200?

RYS 200 (Registered Yoga School, 200-hour) is the school designation — Soundmoves is registered with Yoga Alliance as an RYS 200, meaning we are authorised to issue 200-hour certifications. RYT 200 (Registered Yoga Teacher, 200-hour) is the credential the student earns. Completing a Soundmoves RYS 200 program makes you eligible to register as an RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance.

Do I need prior yoga experience to enrol?

An established personal practice of at least one to two years is strongly recommended. The course assumes familiarity with the major asanas and basic breath practices. Complete beginners would be better served by personal practice for a period before enrolling in teacher training.

What happens after I complete the training?

You receive a Soundmoves RYS 200 certificate. You then apply directly to Yoga Alliance to register as an RYT 200 — this is a separate annual fee paid to Yoga Alliance, not to Soundmoves. Once registered, you can use the RYT 200 designation, teach independently, and advertise as a Yoga Alliance certified teacher.

Can I ask questions during the course?

Yes. You can email questions directly to me throughout your training. The asynchronous format means responses come within a few days rather than in real time, but every student gets direct teacher support.

Is there a refund policy?

[INSERT YOUR REFUND POLICY HERE — e.g., 14-day refund window if less than 10% of course material has been accessed. Be explicit, because at $799 prospective buyers will look for this answer before deciding.]
